Berlin International University of Applied Sciences (BI) is a dynamic, private university with a distinct international focus. State-recognized since 2014, BI currently offers undergraduate and graduate programs at the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FoAD), and the Faculty of Business Administration (FoB).

We are looking for a communicative, organized and service-oriented person to support and coordinate Faculty of Business matters regarding administration, students, lecturers, professors and staff as a part-time position (50%). We would like to complement our team with a colleague who enjoys working in an international academic context, excels at excel, and likes to find practical solutions for organizational challenges, whether mundane or complex. The position requires close cooperation with the Dean of the Faculty and with other units of the university.
The position shall be filled by 01.05.2021.
Main tasks include:
- serving as the first contact person for students, lecturers and professors at FoB
- general administration at the FoB Dean’s Office, including holiday requests, excursion requests, travel authorizations; issuing contracts to external lecturers
- monitoring and coordinating the FoB budgets and calendars
- email correspondence with students, professors, staff and external lecturers regarding the following topics: organization and administration as part of the Dean’s Offices according to the guidelines for lecturers, minor IT support, monitoring invoices etc.
- monitoring and replying to job applications at the FoB
- preparing schedules, assigning academic and internship advisors
- preparing and administrating meetings as well as taking minutes
- assistance to quality management (course and lecturer evaluations)
- contributions to the editing and updating of the university’s website (magazine, information about staff etc.)
- event management for the faculties (informal events, workshops etc.) and communication with external cooperation partners
Your Profile:
- fluency in English (additional language skills welcome)
- intercultural competence
- organized, stress-resistant, communicative personality
- working experience in administration (in an academic/educational context or elsewhere)
- education (training) in administration or related fields
- computer skills including: versatility with office programs like excel and word (expected), expertise with/openness towards working different platforms like google-drive, content management systems, learning management systems (highly desirable)
