Northumbria University’s Law LLB Degree (Hons) is designed for those looking for a stimulating and engaging law degree. The course provides a thorough grounding in legal principles, preparing you to undertake the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). The LLB also includes the study of the 7 foundations of legal knowledge which are required to make this a Qualifying Law Degree (QLD) for those intending to pursue a career as a barrister. The foundation subjects are Public Law (Constitutional and Administrative Law), Law of Contract, Crime, Equity and Trusts, EU, Land and Tort. In addition, you will be able choose from a range of specialist options.
All Northumbria law undergraduate students start on the Law (LLB (Hons)) pathway which then provides you with a wide range of programme route choices. You can select your preferred programme route at the end of your second year of study. The route choices available to you at the end of year 2 are:
