From festivals and concerts, to conferences and corporate events, this course will give you the professional skills you need to succeed in international events management.
Develop a broad range of event delivery strategies and a wealth of first-hand experience in planning, managing and evaluating events. Through live experiential activities and client-based consultancy projects, you’ll gain experience planning and managing a variety of real-life events.
We designed the course with successful event industry professionals and we invite guest lecturers who are active in global events management to share their best practice with you. You’ll develop a powerful grasp of how business operates in this sector.

Supported by our placements office, you’ll also be able to begin building an impressive CV through an optional 36-48 week internship. Spending this time in a real-world events environment will allow you to hone your skills within a fast-paced professional organisation.

Placement options
You can gain useful work experience through the Business School’s Postgraduate Internship Programme. With a short-term internship, you’ll not only show potential employers that you’re ready to get to work, you’ll also gain some vital experience and make some valuable connections for your professional network.
While an internship involves at least 100 hours of work, starting any time between November and early August, how you do those hours is flexible. You could work full time during a break in your studies, or you might do a day or two a week throughout term time, fitting it around your studies.
Optional internship year
If you choose to take the optional one year internship, you’ll do so once you have successfully completed your taught units. The internship takes place over 36-48 weeks – you will be supported by our Placement Office, who have extensive contacts within the industry and over 25 years’ experience of helping students to find placements.
The Placement Office advertise a variety of opportunities, support and advise on the application and recruitment process and continue to support you whilst you are away from the University.
An additional fee applies to this internship.
By the time you finish this course, you’ll have the practical skills, real-world experience and formal qualification to stand out in a competitive jobs market and succeed in this fast-paced industry.
There’s a wide range of career paths to explore around the world, from agencies in the private sector to in-house teams in the public sector, and plenty in between. You can follow in the footsteps of your fellow graduates, who have gone on to work with sports events and music festivals, or you could even establish your own events agency customers.
