Our innovative programme at Keele offers an exciting mix of modules that will help you achieve your career ambitions in the creative industries, such as TV, radio, film and games. Music Production will focus on contemporary, broad-ranging music studies. Taught by experienced academic staff, in a research-informed environment, you will develop skills in sound recording and audio design, digital sampling, programming, mixing, mastering and producing sound. You will also examine the cultural contexts in which sound is produced for and consumed in various media. There will be opportuities to work individually and collaboratively and to deliver innovative projects under the guidance of supportive tutors. 

Studying Media will provide you with the critical skills to analyse and contextualise a variety of media and cultural forms, including films, photography, advertisements, news and digital media. You’ll have the opportunity to explore your own creativity in producing cultural artefacts, with opportunities ranging from documentary-making to social media development, and from photographic installations to magazine production.

As a Music Production graduate you will be ideally placed for employment in, or further training for, many different directions within the creative industries. This may include sound recording, music production, game audio, audio streaming, and broadcasting. You will develop the skills and experience for a future in the public arts, teaching, postgraduate studies, and academia.
