UK65 BSc (Hons) Psychology with Clinical Psychology University of Lincoln
Clinical psychology, as a discipline, is the integration and application of empirically valid and evidence based psychological theories and principles to the understanding and alleviation of distress and problem behaviour.
The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Clinical Psychology degree at the University of Lincoln covers a broad range of psychological theories, alongside specialist modules in mental health and well-being, counselling skills and theory, and approaches to treatment and therapy. Students will also have the opportunity to take elective modules in topics such as cognitive behaviour therapy, taught by practitioner therapists and psychologists.
The course is informed by the scientist-practitioner model, combining theory, research and practical skills development. Furthermore, the course aims to develop students' appreciation and knowledge of the range of skills required to work in clinical settings. The programme will therefore be of interest to students who wish to embark on postgraduate study to become a practising psychologist, or to engage in clinical research.
