Climate Change BSc (Hons) explores the environmental, socio-economic and political aspects of this important inter-disciplinary subject, preparing graduates with understanding and skills to prepare for work in the expanding climate change sector.
The climate crisis remains the defining issue of this century with dramatic consequences expected not only for the global environment but also human health, well-being and all economic sectors – if mitigation is not prioritised.
Climate Change BSc (Hons) at University of Northampton is founded on a thorough knowledge and understanding of the underpinning science of changes in the global climate. Students explore the politics and contested nature of sustainable climate solutions through informed debate and discussion. They will develop vital employability skills by actively exploring how the operation of organisations and businesses is underpinned by consideration of sustainability and climate change.
We offer an innovative approach to enhancing your employability. Our Climate Change is applied so you will develop the skills and attributes that employers are looking for in graduates. The degree feature career planning workshops, which focus on developing your awareness of your subject-specific and transferable skills and a reflective approach to learning. We are confident that this experience gives you the edge when applying for employment or postgraduate training.
We work closely with careers advisers to ensure students get one-to-one career guidance and support.
Guest speakers from a range of businesses and organisations – including lots of our own graduates – contribute to the curriculum. This gives students ‘real-world’
insights into current issues, provides up-to-date information about the workplace, and gives opportunities for networking with potential employers.
