Our single honours degree in Physical Education and Sport explores the ways that sport, physical education and physical activity are organised across schools and local communities. You are encouraged to think critically about current and historical practice in sport and physical education and reflect on your own experiences.

We will support you to achieve your career and study ambitions, which is why if you complete our Employability Plus Gold programme or Changemaker Gold certificate alongside your studies and if you haven’t secured full-time employment 12 months after graduating* we will secure a three – six month paid internship for you, or support you into postgraduate study.

Optional Work Placement Year/ Opportunities Abroad

You will complete a work placement in your second year at a local sport/ physical education provider. This will allow you to build your skills, knowledge and attributes in a career that interests you and leave us as an industry ready graduate.

The Physical Education and Sport degree will prepare you to apply for further training to become a primary or secondary teacher and for potential careers with local authorities and national governing bodies of sport, as well as roles in sport management, coaching and administration.
