Biomedical Science is at the forefront of pioneering advances in medicine. In our leading-edge biomedical laboratory facility set in the heart of our historic campus, you’ll explore this vibrant field, joining our Biosciences group – ranked 1st nationally for student experience by the Guardian and The Times University League Tables 2022.

Through a series of health laboratory challenges, you’ll be trained in the diagnosis, monitoring, treatment and prevention of disease. With a focus on practical exploration and assessment, these exercises will build your capability and confidence to undertake your own laboratory research.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your skills and employability through work-based modules, ranging from short internships to year-long placements.

You’ll finish the course well-prepared to graduate to a career in medical research and health services, or to progress to professional training in medicine, dentistry, nursing or teaching.
