    Exploring crime scene science, toxicology, chemistry, and molecular biology, amongst other fascinating subjects, this degree, designed to be one of the most modern and relevant of its kind, has been engineered to give you a broad understanding of the theory and practice of forensic science.

    You’ll be educated by professional practitioners and industry-seasoned guest speakers who are experts in their respective fields, including forensic archaeology, anthropology, genocide investigation and toxicology. You’ll get to participate in multiple field trips, as well as being taught in contemporary lecture halls and state-of-the-art labs where you’ll use cutting-edge equipment. What’s more, our course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences. 

    You can pick subject modules that suit your own interests and career ambitions in year two and three/four, and as this course shares its first year with BSc (Hons) Forensic Investigation, you can switch courses at the end of year one.

    To enhance your academic study with that all-important work experience you’ll have the opportunity to complete a five or 30-week placement, which can be anywhere in the world. Not only will this enhance your CV but it can also act as a springboard to help launch a career as a forensic investigator post-graduation, whether that’s with the police or working on the aftermath of devastations, such as those caused by fire, tsunamis, earthquakes, genocide or mass transport accidents.

    You will be provided with theoretical and practical training covering crime scene science, toxicology, chemistry and molecular biology. This course draws on our expertise in forensic archaeology, anthropology, genocide investigation and toxicology. 91% of our final year students agree that this course is intellectually stimulating.

    This degree will give you a good grounding in forensic and legal principles, including covering crime scene management and biological and chemical analysis. You will graduate with all the skills you need to get ahead in the field, as well as practical knowledge of a range of industry-standard equipment. 95% of our students who study this course are working or studying six months after graduating.
