UK21 MSc Strategic with Forensic Accounting University of Westminster
Our exciting MSc brings together the disciplines of strategic financial decision-making, practice of accounting at an advanced level, fraud examination and forensic accounting: skills and knowledge increasingly in demand due to restrictive economic conditions and greater scrutiny of how companies are managed.
Providing insight at the forefront of accounting reporting and practice, key themes relate to how companies plan and implement accounting standards, measure performance and success, and integrate business lifecycle strategies and information systems into the accounting and financial decisions of global organisations.
Course content is purposefully mapped to the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) strategic professional level curriculum. While this does not exempt you from the professional ACCA papers, it prepares you to potentially choose to sit the professional papers externally and become a fully ACCA certified accountant (additional fees apply). ACCA exam kits and pocket notes, including access to online resources, will be supplied by the University.
Studying in the heart of the city of London provides opportunities to engage with professional networks and industry. Case studies, a research project, skills workshops, a business process simulation program and guest lectures from current practitioners and CEOs from multinationals, will better prepare you for the business and finance world that awaits.
You’ll develop the technical, professional, analytical and ethical skills and knowledge required to lead and take a strategic management role in financial accounting, auditing or forensic accounting.
This course will prepare you for roles such as:
