    This applied behavioural science and welfare degree is for students who want to pursue careers in animal behaviour and animal welfare - particularly with animals in captivity.

    This degree is aimed at those with an active interest in the welfare of animals in captivity and who wish to develop this into a professional career. You will develop your theoretical and practical skills with state-of-the-art facilities designed with animal welfare and specific behavioural needs in mind.

    Modules include animal behaviour, anatomy and physiology, animal cognition and learning, conservation, and animal health and disease management. The wide range of topics covered will enable you to consider a number of industry posts, including those in management and research.

    The course is offered by one of the university's partner colleges: Hadlow College in Kent.

    Successful students may progress onto a related MSc or PhD programme, or into a wide range of management and research posts within the industry. Typical employers include animal rescue centres, animal charities, zoos and wildlife parks, as well as educational institutions and retail outlets.
