With small class sizes, expert lecturers and relevant, practice-led content, our LLM Advanced Legal Practice will give you the knowledge and skills you need for a career in law.

Here at ARU, you’ll develop a detailed knowledge of legal practice with 12 core modules including litigation, property law and advocacy.

Meanwhile our optional modules allow you to focus on areas of law that are of particular interest to you, tailoring your learning to create your ideal postgraduate experience.

Successful completion of the Legal Practice Course will prepare you for life as a practising solicitor in England or Wales. You’ll be ready to continue on to the two-year training contract that will fully qualify you for professional practice*.

You can choose to complete your two year qualifying work experience in up to four organisations that provide legal services. It can be paid or unpaid and could include time spent on a training contract, on placement during a law degree, working in a law clinic, at a voluntary or charitable organisation such as citizen advice or a law centre or working as a paralegal.
