The Department of English at the University of Sydney is one of the world’s leading centres of literary practice and research. Our teachers are leading writers, critics and editors. They are current or previous poetry or fiction editors of leading Australian literary journals Southerly, Meanjin and Overland, and have judged the NSW Premier’s Literary Awards and Australia Council Literature grants, among others.
