Students who have performed exceptionally well in their undergraduate studies may wish to undertake a research project in an area of special interest to them. Each candidate is assigned two university-based supervisors who will provide support and academic guidance throughout the coursework and research components of this program. During the coursework stage, your supervisors will assist with the early preparation of your research proposal and then continue to offer guidance throughout the research phase, and until your thesis is examined.

Applicants can choose one of the following areas:

• Arts and Sciences
• Business
• Education
• Health Science
• Law
• Medicine
• Nursing
• Philosophy and Theology
• Physiotherapy

The following criteria are required for a student to be admitted to the Master of Philosophy program:

• Possession of an undergraduate degree from a recognised university
• An equivalent academic background or extensive professional experience that is considered by the Dean of the School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work at Master's level.

An applicant may be required to demonstrate an ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study or as deemed by the Dean of School.
