Here at The University of Notre Dame Australia, our Master of Arts is a postgraduate research degree designed for students who have performed exceptionally well during their undergraduate studies. Designed for high-performing students, a Master of Arts presents the perfect opportunity for academic advancement. Working with an assigned supervisor, you will complete a major research project in your chosen field. Candidates may also be required to undertake concurrent studies in the relevant content area if their background is deemed to be lacking in contemporary knowledge and understanding.

Completion time for this project is normally two years of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time study. However, in special circumstances, applicants may be able to complete their Masters in only one year but prior approval from the Dean of Arts & Sciences is required. Before submitting an application, please contact the University’s Research Office to arrange a discussion with a suitably qualified member of the academic staff.

• Possession of a Bachelor’s award (AQF level 7 qualification) in a field relevant to the specialisation; or
• An equivalent academic or professional background that is considered by the Dean of the School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work in a cognate discipline.
