AU39 Bachelor of Human Resource Management - Bachelor of Arts University of Notre Dame Australia (Sydney campus)
Effective human resource management assists businesses and organisations to adapt and thrive in environments of rapid economic, sociological and technological change. The main focus of this discipline is to balance organisational and employee needs to meet every legal and social responsibility.
Our degree program covers all the subjects that are pertinent to human resource management, including Employment Law, Change Management and Human Resource Development. In addition, you will study foundation business courses including Economics, Finance, Business Information Technology and the Principles of Marketing, which will give you knowledge and understanding of how businesses function. You’ll be an equal partner at the management table, ensuring the best outcomes for employers and employees.
By combining human resource management with an Arts degree, you will develop your ability to analyse, interpret, deliberate, draw conclusions, communicate, work as a team member and problem-solve. You will be able to consider multiple perspectives and handle ambiguity and uncertainty. These are the skills needed in the 21st century workplace and are a natural fit with human resource management.
You will study an Arts Major in a humanities or social science area of your choice which will give you in-depth, specialist knowledge and skills that will allow you to contribute effectively to the cultural and intellectual life of society.
A Business Internship comprised of 150 hours of practicum will further ensure you have the opportunity to utilise the skills you have learned, applying them in the corporate environment. The Bachelor of Human Resource Management is accredited by the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), thus this Bachelor's program will give you the start you need, whether you choose to work in the public or private sector.
