AU30 Master of Engineering Science (Materials) Flinders University

  • THÔNG TIN CHUNG

The postgraduate program in engineering science (materials) provides an extension to your undergraduate study focusing on the selection, production and behaviour of practical materials used in engineered products.

Materials represents an important component of many technological products and the engineering of materials connects to a variety of research areas including nanotechnology, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemical sciences, electrical engineering and civil engineering.

Materials engineers also look closely at materials failure – fracture, corrosion, wear – destructive and non-destructive testing, and are generally interested in solid materials as they are primarily the materials used for manufacture.

Materials engineering involves whole-of-life considerations, including recycling, and generally involves using materials in bulk.

  • CƠ HỘI NGHỀ NGHIỆP

Materials engineers are able to find jobs in almost all fields in which technology is developed providing a great range of career opportunities to work as a metallurgist, process engineer, corrosion engineer, polymer engineer, ceramist, quality control engineer, and surface coatings scientist.

    Professional accreditation/recognition

This course is not accredited but students who have completed at least twelve months with a credit average or higher may transfer to the accredited Master of Engineering (Materials).
