AU30 Master of Engineering (Electronics) Flinders University
The Master of Engineering (Electronics) is distinguished by the University’s strengths in instrumentation and control, including embedded systems and electronics for medical devices.
The world of instrumentation and control is rapidly evolving to include sophisticated, intelligent devices that can sense their environment, autonomously correct for disturbances, and interpret data from sensors to facilitate intelligent control of complex systems.
Designing and developing these devices is the responsibility of electronic engineers, who are playing an increasingly important role in the development of smart structures for automotive, aerospace and maritime engineering; bioinstrumentation; intelligent robotics; and environment monitoring.
Flinders specialises in research training for engineers, and the course offers you a choice of research projects in intelligent control, autonomous vehicles, robotics, image/signal processing, embedded systems, and bioinstrumentation. Most research projects are funded through national competitive grants and industry funding. Staff are directly involved on projects involving unmanned aerial/ underwater vehicles, video tracking, super-resolution, bioinstrumentation, and environmental sensors.
There are many employment opportunities in some of the fastest growing areas in defence, medicine, telecommunications, building, manufacturing, construction and mining.
Potential occupations include:
Professional accreditation/recognition
This program is fully accredited by Engineers Australia at the level of professional engineer.
