AU28 Associate Degree of Engineering (Mining Engineering) University of Southern Queensland
USQ’s Associate Degree of Engineering (Mining) has been developed as part of the Minerals Industry National Associate Degree (MINAD) project established by the Minerals Council of Australia (MCA). This degree will give you the freedom of choice to start up your career or be a stepping stone to further study.
You will study planning, design, testing, and the operation of open-cut and underground mines, but also get the opportunity to put your knowledge and skills into practice in class and at mining sites.
Topics include fundamental mathematics, applied mechanics, material science, engineering design, geology, geomechanics, construction, surveying, mining technology and mine planning.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Graduates of the Mining Engineering major are eligible to apply for Associate Grade membership of Australiasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM).
