The Bachelor of Arts-Bachelor of Business gives you the opportunity to specialise in two different study areas - helping you gain skills and knowledge from Bachelor of Business majors and complementing them with the critical analysis and communication strengths you gain studying a Bachelor of Arts.

This joint degree, completed full-time over 4 years, will cover a balance of study areas across business and the humanities. Depending on your desired career path and whether you study in Townsville or Cairns, you have a choice majors including Accounting, Economics, Human Resources Management and International Business, to name a few. Some of these majors are available to study online, giving you greater flexibility while you study. From Arts, you can enhance your study with Psychology, Political Science or Indigenous Studies among other majors on offer.

Depending on your choices of majors you may be eligible for registration with professional bodies within your chosen fields of study. Honours

Honours is available in each discipline as additional 24 credit points of study. Refer to either the  Bachelor of Arts (Honours), or the Bachelor of Business (Honours) Handbook for eligibility information.

There are many and varied pathways for graduates of this joint degree. There are a number of possible combinations of majors – for example you could study a language with your choice of business major; or include psychology which provides graduates with an insight into human behaviour and how this impacts on organisations within the context of recruitment, employee relations and human resources.

As an Arts-Business graduate you may pursue careers in management, or as a consultant in a wide range of organisations in the private sector, research and government departments.

Graduates can also pursue additional study to teach in schools or in higher education. Alternatively, with further study, you can go on to contribute to higher education and research.
