AU19 Master of Project Management (Advanced) Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne campus)
The Master of Project Management (Advanced) is designed to provide students with expertise in project management across a range of industries. Students develop the knowledge and skills needed to manage complex, high risk, innovative projects and address resource management, risk management, business analysis and strategy. Units cover a range of practical contexts across the areas of entrepreneurship, management and leadership. The course addresses managing teams, human resource management and organisational behaviour. The course aims to equip students to create and communicate professional project plans that address complex business problems, support organisational change and respond to ethical issues. Students select a specialisation from options including information systems and risk management. The research component allows students to apply and extend their knowledge. The course is ideal for students who wish to focus on a particular area or to progress to a PhD.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Students enrolled in this course are eligible for student membership to the Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM). Upon completion, students may upgrade to associate or full member status and are entitled to automatic recognition for AIPM’s Registered Project Manager (RegPM) Certification as a Certified Practising Project Practitioner (CPPP).
The following core units of this course are endorsed by the Australian Institute of Project Management as the Master of Project Management Discipline Core Units: INF70005 Strategic Project Management, PRM60002 Project Management for Business Development, PRM70002 Leading Complex Projects, and PRM80002 Project Governance and Resource Management. The outcomes of these units align to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) and the Business Services Training Package competency standards.
