AU19 Advanced Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering Swinburne University of Technology (Melbourne campus)
The Advanced Diploma of Electronics and Communications Engineering provides students with a foundation in electronics. It emphasises digital technology, gate array technologies and the application of microprocessor-controlled circuitry, communications and analogue electronics. Students learn how to provide technical leadership in the workplace and to design, commission, test, evaluate and diagnose faults in advanced electronic systems and associated apparatus.
Upon completion of this course, student can apply pathway to Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (BH-ENG).
Students successfully completing the Advanced Diploma may gain employment in a technician position in procurement, data cabling, equipment installation and servicing, sales, manufacturing, quality control, system diagnostics, or prototype construction, in industries such as mining, telecommunications, transport, entertainment or medical electronics.
In addition, graduates of the Advanced Diploma program may work in a paraprofessional position in the debugging or design fields, as a servicing and maintenance engineer in electronic industries, as a technical officer/manager in public services and defence, as a technical consultant, or as a hardware and software field service engineer.
