AU17 Bachelor of Business (Event Management) La Trobe University (Victoria campus)
Become a leader in the special events sector through this course. We offer a combination of practical skills and business theory, teaching you how to make effective project management decisions.
Your subjects will cover management, marketing, economics, business law, accounting and finance, along with specialised event management studies that give you the skills you need to plan and organise festivals and community events.
This course also develops your knowledge of sustainability issues and how they affect the organisation of community events. We place a particular focus on the development of entrepreneurship, which is vital for the promotion and success of professional, sporting, cultural and community events.
To build practical experience, you'll have the chance to plan, deliver and evaluate student-led events on and off campus, and work with our industry partners throughout your degree.
Nine elective subjects allow you to complete a second major in a business discipline such as marketing, sport management or international business, a language, an international student exchange, or any other eight-subject major offered at the University. Alternatively, you could complete one or two four-subject minors such as social media or marketing, or a selection of individual elective subjects, including an international study tour or intern subjects.
Our unique industry Professors of Practice work within this course to improve course curriculum, student learning experience, and engage with industry and business.
Our graduates have broad-ranging employment opportunities in fields such as event operations, venues and destinations management, community events, and in professional event management organisations.
