Western’s law courses are a unique alternative to more traditional law schools, with community law activities that give you real world experience. Since 2010, the School of Law has operated the Parramatta Community Justice Clinic, providing a much-needed service, while giving students a unique clinical legal learning opportunity.

Gain practical legal skills
You will learn professional legal skills including the ability to analyse legal material, understand fundamental legal principles, understand the relationship between law and society, and gain general analytical skills for critical thinking and problem solving.
Special emphasis is placed on the development of skills in advocacy, negotiation, legal drafting and legal research.
You may also have the opportunity to take part in work experience during your course, such as working at the NSW Attorney General's in legal aid, working in cooperative Summer Research Programs with industry, and in the Australian Taxation Office advisory support scheme.
