    There is a significant demand for teachers qualified in technology and applied studies. On completion of this course you'll be classed as a teacher of technology with the ability to teach in the key learning area of design and technology, and another selected area from agricultural, food, industrial and information technology. Students undertaking the industrial technology or food technology strand can also include an additional teaching area of either graphics and multimedia technology or textiles technology.

    The Bachelor of Education (Technology and Applied Studies) is offered as a full-time, four-year program, predominantly taught face-to-face on the Wagga Wagga campus, or as a part-time or full-time program delivered online with residential schools for the practical components, providing the opportunity to meet your lecturers and discuss topics in depth.

    During the 80 days of professional experience embedded in this course you will observe and engage in the practice of teaching and learning within  secondary school settings. You'll learn more about – and practice – behaviour management, teacher planning and assessment.

    PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION

    ITE programs including the B Ed (TAS) are accredited according to national standards prescribed by the Australian Institute of Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL). These include both the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers, and their ITE program standards.

    The NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) is our state-based regulator, and it is their responsibility to implement and assure the AITSL standards in NSW. In addition to being the NSW ITE program accrediting authority, they also administer teacher registration.

    The B Ed (TAS) is accredited until 31 December 2019. Re-accreditation for 2020 onwards is pending.
