UK83 MArch Master of Architecture University of Liverpool

  • THÔNG TIN CHUNG

The Master of Architecture (MArch) programme is accredited as an RIBA Part 2 award, and is a professional/undergraduate Masters qualification available to students with a BA/BSc in Architecture and RIBA Part I (we will consider other 1st Class degrees based on folio and experience as stated above). This degree is validated by the RIBA and prescribed by ARB as a Part 2 qualification towards access to the Architectural Profession in Europe.

Candidates should be aware that those who do not have RIBA Part 1 on joining the MArch here at Liverpool, may apply to the Architects Registration Board (ARB ) upon MArch course completion to be considered for RIBA Part 1 (for a fee payable to ARB). The University of Liverpool has no say in this process, which is undertaken independently by the candidate.

The BA in Architecture is a first step into the profession, into which many of our graduates go. The programme is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB), and the degree constitutes Part I of the education, which eventually leads to professional registration. Our graduates who want to pursue a career in architecture are able to apply for the MArch programme, which provides the RIBA accredited Part II.

But the programme is also an ideal preparation for further study and hugely valuable in a whole range of other careers. As well as major international architects, recent graduates have gone on to work in publishing, the Arts Council, the construction industry, and multidisciplinary think tanks. Pop music, games design and the fashion industry have recruited recent graduates too, as has property development.
