As a Biology student at Keele, you will explore a range of engaging biological topics, which may include the complexity of biological processes and mechanisms at molecular, cellular, organismal and ecosystem levels and related philosophical and ethical issues. You’ll be encouraged to examine how bodies work, how animals behave and the uses to which we can put plants. You'll develop your practical skill set through a range of activities which may include sampling, recording and analysing data in the field and also in our well-equippedlabs, and you'll be encouraged to consider how biology can be utilised practically which may relate to improving the quality and sustainability of life.

Biology at Keele offers both breadth and depth of knowledge, preparing you for a range of directly or indirectly related careers. If you choose to do an applied life sciences placement you’ll graduate with the advantage of a significant level of work experience in biology to take to potential employers.

This programme is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology. Accredited degree programmes contain a solid academic foundation in biological knowledge and key skills, and prepare graduates to address the needs of employers. Graduates from accredited programmes will receive one year's free membership of the Royal Society of Biology, thereby opening up networks at a time when you are perhaps applying for your first employment.
