Study in acclaimed research institutes including the Australian Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology and the Charles Perkins Centre.

This program will give you the knowledge, skills and practical experience to teach personal development, health and physical education (PDHPE) in secondary schools.

With a strong focus on practical workplace training, your coursework is enhanced by more than four months of practical experience. Gain hands-on experience with 45 days of teaching practice in schools as well as school visits and a seven-week internship in a high school. As part of the final internship you will also complete a professional research project.

During the course, you will:

• develop the skills and knowledge to create innovative teaching programs that cater for diverse student needs
• be ready to teach after on-the-job training, by enhancing your studies with more than four months of secondary school placements
• be mentored by teaching staff who are internationally renowned researchers and practitioners.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION

The Master of Teaching (MTeach) is a graduate-entry professional teaching qualification to become an accredited teacher in NSW and other Australian jurisdictions. It is open to students who already have an undergraduate degree.

Under the Institute of Teachers Act 2004 all graduates (so-called 'new scheme teachers') will need to be accredited against the standards for Professional Competence following their employment in schools.
