If you are seeking to make the transition from a science or mathematics-based career to become an engineer, or if you already have an engineering degree and would like to change paths to a different specialisation, the Master of Professional Engineering offers an accredited qualification that will enable you to practise in Australia and overseas. The power specialisation will provide you with advanced skills to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain power systems and equipment.
This degree will also help you develop the sound communication, management and decision-making capabilities necessary to interpret and discuss complex issues in your area of specialisation. The program will provide you with the engineering professional practice and research skills that lead to recognition as an Australian graduate engineer. Your qualifications will be recognised internationally through the Washington Accord of the International Engineering Alliance.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Graduates in power engineering may go on to become power transmission and generating systems engineers, grid maintenance and stability contractors and industrial power supply engineers. Additionally there is a strong demand from other power related industries, such as petrochemical engineering and mining.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
The Master of Professional Engineering (Power) has been accorded full accreditation at the level of Professional Engineering by the industry governing body, Engineers Australia.
