If you are seeking to make the transition from a science or mathematics-based career to become an engineer, or if you already have an engineering degree and would like to change paths to a different specialisation, the Master of Professional Engineering offers an accredited qualification that will enable you to practise in Australia and overseas. The chemical and biomolecular specialisation explores industrial processes in which material in bulk undergoes physical of chemical changes.
This degree will also help you develop the sound communication, management and decision-making capabilities necessary to interpret and discuss complex issues in your area of specialisation. The program will provide you with the engineering professional practice and research skills that lead to recognition as an Australian graduate engineer. Your qualifications will be recognised internationally through the Washington Accord of the International Engineering Alliance.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Engineers working in this field may specialise as combustion engineers, petroleum engineers, chemical engineers, smelting engineers, water treatment engineers or environmental engineers. There is also scope for chemical and biomolecular engineers to move into related areas including biotechnology, food engineering and mineral engineering.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
The Master of Professional Engineering (Chemical and Biomolecular) has been accorded full accreditation at the level of Professional Engineering by the industry governing body Engineers Australia.
