The course has a specific focus on achieving equity in health for people worldwide and on preparing you to apply public health principles in some of the most challenging and demanding conditions in the world.
The Master of Global Health will lead to hands on careers in public health, i.e. working with people in the field, as well as research-oriented jobs which involve conducting studies and examining overall health trends.
Careers in public health include public health officer in a health service, public health advisor to an international aid agency or government department in a developing country, or a researcher at a university or research centre.
Graduates of this course are able to obtain employment with non-government organisations (NGO's) internationally and in Australia, government ministries in developing countries, multilateral and bilateral agencies (such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the United Nations or the World Health Organization), Australian health services and academic institutions.
