The Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) trains qualified dentists who wish to specialise in periodontics. You will develop technical skills in periodontal implants and clinical periodontics as you acquire a comprehensive understanding of the field of periodontology.
Your studies will be primarily clinical based with didactic sessions, complemented by a research project in periodontal surgery or practice under the supervision of an academic staff member.
Accredited by the Australian Dental Council, the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) prepares graduates for work in a specialist practice in periodontics or a specialist clinic in a hospital and also opens up further opportunities to pursue a career in research and clinical academic positions.
