In this course, you’ll develop a broad understanding of human resource management (HRM) theories, functions and communications. You will explore the contribution of HRM towards organisation effectiveness and efficiency.
You’ll study the fundamental principles underpinning management theory, explore the associated practices in contemporary organisations and consider the future of management in light of 21st century issues such as globalisation, corporate social responsibility and change management.
This course will also explore industrial relations in Australia, particularly the roles of the tribunals, the state, unions and management. You’ll study collective and enterprise bargaining, negotiation, industrial action and conflict.
This course leads to the Graduate Diploma in Human Resources.

This course meets the accreditation requirements of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
A bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a field of study other than Human Resources, or at least 5 years' relevant work experience. Applicants must also meet Curtin's English language proficiency requirements.
