    The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), according to the Australian Department of Human Services, when fully rolled out, will provide about 460,000 Australians aged under 65, who have permanent and significant disability with funding for supports and services. This scheme will mean growth in the disability sector’s workforce and opportunities for you.

    The Graduate Diploma of Business (NDIS Studies) will provide you with the skills you will need to lead organisations to understand and deliver services to meet the needs of people with a disability and promote inclusive communities. Learn about disability services, understand regulations within the NDIS, ethical practice, decision making, leadership and management and legislative policy and practice related to disability services.

    This specialised degree is ideal if you’re already working in the disability sector and looking to advance your career, or if you’re a professional transferring into disability services.

    EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

    After graduating you will have the skills to support NDIS recipients to make independent choices, while ensuring organisations have appropriate qualified staff to support others in the workplace. Careers may include leadership roles to develop and manage change including small and medium initiatives. Relevant positions may include local area coordinator (LAC), support coordinator or plan manager.

    PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION

    Depending on other qualifications and experience, membership of professional associations such as the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) is available.
