AU26 Master of Museum Studies University of Queensland
Museum Studies is an inter-disciplinary field of study that encompasses museum history, theory and practice. The program delivers the professional training required for those interested in pursuing careers in the museum and heritage industry whilst at the same time, providing for those already working in this sector, the opportunity to develop or enhance existing skills and interests. At UQ, our focus is on developing a critical awareness of the social, cultural and political issues facing those working in the museum and gallery sector, whilst providing the hands-on practical skills necessary for professional practice. Engaging with the University's world-class museums and collections together with leading professionals in the field, UQ provides a uniquely stimulating environment for museological research and training. An inter-disciplinary approach is used to deliver core courses through the School of Social Science, with a broad choice of inter-departmental and cross-faculty electives.
