The Social and Public Policy major connects the social sciences to the world of politics. Students learn how to analyse social and economic issues and how to develop, implement and evaluate policy solutions. Courses cover social and economic analysis; policy development, implementation, management, and evaluation; and community engagement and development. The major emphasises how social policy affects everyone in a society and the role of social policy in producing positive change.
This course equips graduates with relevant and marketable skills, including; policy making and advocacy, public communication, cross-cultural awareness, report writing, project management and social research skills.
