AU26 Bachelor of International Studies (International Inequality and Development) University of Queensland
The International Inequality and Development major introduces students to the relationship between global development and inequality. Courses cover key issues, concepts and approaches to global development and poverty. As a student in this major, you'll understand development and inequality in historical as well as contemporary contexts, and be introduced to a range of important issues including the roles of different actors and agencies in development, ranging from international institutions to community groups.
Graduates are typically interested in pursuing careers with international agencies, government or nonprofit organisations, such as UNESCO, UNICEF or the World Health Organization.
Beyond a career in international relations, policy or humanitarian services, our graduates also keenly pursue careers in the global private sector, across industries such as:
Many of our graduates also choose to further their research ambitions by enrolling in an honours year, or progress to postgraduate coursework programs including International Relations, Peace and Conflict Studies, Development Practice, Governance and Public Policy, or Interpreting and Translation (Japanese or Chinese) at UQ.
