Film and TV continue to transform society today and are major influences on how we participate in personal and public life. The Film and Television major will teach you how to understand and analyse the development of the moving image – from its origins in the 19th century to today. You'll understand how film and TV have shaped our history, influence the present, and how they might shape our future. You'll appreciate how film and TV are both major commercial industries and artistic forms, and have the option of taking practical courses in screen writing, digital video production, and more.

The Bachelor of Arts provides you with a well-rounded education, the ability to think and analyse, to write effectively, and the specialist knowledge gained in your major. As a result, a BA opens up a range of career opportunities including but not limited to:
