Archaeology is the study of the human past. Archaeologists search for and excavate ancient sites and examine artefacts to better understand how different peoples and cultures developed and changed over time. As a student in the Archaeology major, you'll develop your understanding of past human cultures and explore major milestones in the human past. You'll also learn about archaeological methods and techniques, including field survey and excavation, materials analysis, and how to interpret archaeological collections and sites. You'll also have a chance to learn about archaeology in countries like Egypt, Turkey, Australia and the Pacific Islands, and study the relevance of archaeology to fields like forensics and criminal investigations.
