    From mining and energy to automotive and manufacturing, this program provides you with the skills to work as a designer, technical specialist, consultant or manager across a range of industries.

    Through this program you'll develop the knowledge to lead the implementation of new technologies and operating practices and systems in process, automotive, manufacturing, mining, energy and infrastructure-oriented businesses.

    You will develop specialist knowledge in:

    • advanced CAE
    • advanced dynamics
    • advanced control
    • advanced solid mechanics
    • advanced thermo fluids

    Build high-level technical knowledge and appropriate professional skills such as management, leadership and business enterprise.

    Developments in the energy, mining, automotive and manufacturing industries are driving the need for mechanical engineers with advanced skills in the latest technologies.

    Our RMIT graduates have gone onto work for companies such as the Ford Motor Company Australia, Air International (Futuris), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) and DNE New Energy Technology Ogy Ltd (China). You'll find employment in mechanical engineering fields including construction, energy, infrastructure, mining, building services and food processing.     Professional recognition and accreditation

    The Master of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) is not accredited, although it has been developed to align with the Engineers Australia accreditation framework.

    Engineers Australia is the professional body responsible for the accreditation of higher education programs that prepare students to practise as professional engineers.

    Graduates of the Master of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) may be eligible to apply for membership of Engineers Australia.
