    Take advantage of our unique position as a laboratory-based inter-disciplinary program and work with senior heritage professionals and conservators to preserve art and objects for future generations. You'll get involved with Indigenous projects, including the Association of Northern Kimberley Arnhem Aboriginal Artists and the Warmun Art Centre, and global institutions, like the National Museum of the Philippines, Museums Victoria and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Victoria.

    Capitalise on the connections the University has with national and international institutions and the vast cultural collections and expertise of the University's Grimwade Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation, the Arts and Science Faculties and the galleries, libraries, archives and museums across campus.

    Who is it for?

    If you want to refine your professional area of practice, you can specialise in areas such as conservation treatment and new media pathways, and engage in our field based subjects in the East Kimberley and overseas in the Philippines or Indonesia, within the Master of Cultural Materials Conservation. Designed for those willing to extend themselves, you will have access to sophisticated scientific conservation equipment at the University of Melbourne's Science and Engineering faculties, where you can hone your ability as a master conservator. You can also gain professional experience through a national or international internship, where you'll work under senior heritage professionals and conservators to carry out conservation research or treatment.
