Write an 80,000 words thesis under academic supervision, which examines a specific problem, issue or topic. You’ll make a significant and original contribution to an existing area of knowledge in your field of study.

SPECIALISE IN A KEY RESEARCH AREA

Unearth groundbreaking study in areas including: veterinary biosciences; animal sciences - health and welfare; and infectious diseases - public health and biosecurity.

In order to be considered for entry, applicants must have completed:

1. a four-year bachelor degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and have achieved a minimum weighted average of 75% in the final year subjects or (University of Melbourne) equivalent. (Note: applicants who have completed professional degrees such as a BVSc or DVM will be assessed individually); or
2. a masters degree in a relevant discipline which includes a substantial research component equivalent to at least 25% of one year of full-time study and achieved a minimum weighted average of 75%; or
3. a qualification and professional experience considered to be equivalent; and
4. a research proposal
5. referee reports (except for applications who have graduated from the University of Melbourne within the last five years); and
6. the endorsement of a prospective supervisor meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection.
