The Master of Advanced Engineering is the key transitional stage in your career, transforming you into a global leader. This course is designed to extend your knowledge in your chosen specialisation area and advance your leadership and complex problem-solving skills in a cross-cultural environment.

Common core units will develop crucial skills in areas such as data analysis and entrepreneurship, translating theory into engineering practice. In discipline core units you will identify, interpret and critically appraise current developments and technologies within your specialisation.

Please note: this course does not provide stage 1 engineering accreditation. Students seeking this accreditation should refer to the Master of Professional Engineering.

Medical engineering

The Master of Advanced Medical Engineering will allow you to focus on engineering design and the development of medical technologies, encompassing recent advances in biomaterials, bioengineering, medical devices and instrumentation. You will develop a knowledge of the human body and its workings as well as the fundamentals of regulation, clinical practice and clinical trials of medical technologies.

Entry level 1 - 2 years

• Successful completion of the equivalent of a 4 year Australian Bachelor of Engineering in the relevant discipline with a minimum 65% average (Australian equivalent).

Entry level 2 - 1 year

• Successful completion of the equivalent of a 4 year Australian Bachelor of Engineering in the relevant discipline with a minimum 70% average (Australian equivalent); OR
• The equivalent of a four-year Australian Bachelor of Engineering in the relevant discipline with a minimum 65% average (Australian equivalent) and at least three year's relevant engineering work experience. A Curriculum Vitae is also required as part of your application.
