AU13 Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) University of Newcastle

  • THÔNG TIN CHUNG

At the University of Newcastle we train engineers capable of solving the world’s greatest challenges. As a mechanical engineering student, your degree will prepare you to help address the world’s future energy needs by taking biomass, wind and tidal power solutions to the next level. You could learn to design self-driving farm machinery for ultra efficient food production, or develop the skills to tackle health issues by building revolutionary biomechanical solutions for people with disabilities.

What is mechanical engineering? Mechanical engineers design, manufacture and optimise specialist machines and processes. As part of your Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering you will study how to solve important problems. Your core courses in mechanical engineering will teach you to develop solutions using robotics, new advanced materials, the fundamental laws of energy generation and transmission, and the computer control of physical systems - from nano to mega-tonne scale. Your degree could lead to work on everything from power plants, to air conditioners, aircraft engines and racecars.

    What you will study

Learn critical technical and mechanical engineering skills in:

    • mathematics, physics, design and mechanics
    • advanced materials and manufacturing
    • bulk solids handling
    • fluid dynamics
    • thermodynamics
    • computer-aided engineering

Connect with the mechanical engineering industry through guest lectures and interdisciplinary projects solving real world problems. Gain invaluable practical experience through your industry placement.

Become job-ready through our professional practice courses. You'll learn to tackle ‘wicked problems’ and develop essential workplace skills in finance, project management, sustainability, communication and entrepreneurism.

Diversify your skills and engineering degree with an elective pathway, a cluster of courses which can be used to:

    • deepen your technical competence in your engineering field
    • broaden your expertise in another area of engineering
    • learn skills in areas outside engineering, such as business or maths
    • study overseas at one of our many partner institutions.
  • CƠ HỘI NGHỀ NGHIỆP

Almost all industries need mechanical engineers. They work in medical, transport, automotive, aerospace, electronics, and mining industries, and in growth sectors like renewable energy, robotics, automation and advanced manufacturing.

Mechanical engineering is flexible and diverse. You may prefer hands-on fieldwork, design and development, or a leadership role managing people and projects. Typical positions include:

    • mechanical engineering designer
    • mechanical systems supervisor
    • mechanical technology engineer
    • operating plant manager
    • engineering project manager
  • ĐIỀU KIỆN ĐẦU VÀO
